Blue light, also known as high-energy visible light (HEV), is present in visible sunlight and in the illumination of digital screens. Thanks to our daily use of laptops, cell phones and other screens, our exposure to blue light has increased exponentially, which can also have a negative impact on our skin and lead to premature skin aging.

Although HEV does not visibly burn the skin compared to UV light, as when skin is exposed to the sun without protection, blue light nevertheless potentially contributes to skin aging by generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the skin. These ROS or free radicals, in turn, cause oxidative damage to the skin, leading to fine lines and wrinkles. What's more, screens emitting blue light are exceptionally close to our face, so high-frequency blue light - which can penetrate deeper into the skin than UV-A or UV-B light - clearly affects our skin.

Eight hours of screen work, for example, can be the equivalent of 20 minutes' exposure to the sun, damaging the skin just as much as the sun. What's more, blue light increases melanin production in a process called melanogenesis, which can lead to blotchy skin pigments. For people with sensitive skin, or those struggling with hyperpigmentation or melasma, this makes it all the more important to take preventative measures.

To protect our skin from the potential damage caused by blue light, we've recently enhanced our CBD face cream with a blue light filter! Soliberine is a phytobioactive product derived from the flowers of Buddleja officinalis, commonly known as the "butterfly bush". In traditional medicine, Buddleja, a shrub of the Loganiaceae family, is known for its healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiviral and antibacterial properties.

In our CBD face cream, Soliberine counteracts the negative effects of light rays on the skin. As an active ingredient, Soliberine delays the onset of skin ageing over time and slows the structural and visual appearance of photoaging of the skin by neutralizing the overproduction of ROS caused by light rays. By protecting against UV, IR and HEV radiation and their harmful effects on the skin, Soliberine acts as an all-round protection against light, perfectly complementing our existing anti-aging formulation.

New in the way cannabis is used...

Cannabinoids for topical use (for the skin) revolutionize the perception of the cannabis plant and restore its image by its benefits in mild medication. Are you still septic?..... Try one of the proposed preparations, you will be surprised!

What are cannabinoids for topical use?

This product category includes lotions, emulsions, balms and oils that will be applied and absorbed through the skin.

Topical application combines the benefits of cannabis with those of the product.

How do cannabinoids act on the dermis?

Cannabinoids bind to the network of receptors called CB2 that are present throughout the body. These internally generated receptors are activated by cannabis-derived compounds such as CBD, THC, also known as "phyto-cannabinoids". Acting only on the dermis without reaching the bloodstream, they have no psychotropic effect.

Are you a fan of soft medication?

Topical preparations are now recognized and used to relieve local or muscle pain, reduce inflammation and lower blood pressure.

Recent studies have shown that preparations combining cannabinoids administered topically and used regularly reduce or even eliminate psoriasis, dermatitis and other itching attacks. The soothing action of the preparations can also reduce headaches and cramps.
